Nine long months have ended and now you have a perfect, beautiful baby in your arms! Congratulations! I recommend booking your newborn session around 20 weeks, but if you have gotten to this point and not done so yet, stop now and send me a message, let me create some gorgeous portraits of your new little one!

Time for your newborn session, what do you need to do???

What do I wear? I recommend Mom's and Dad's both wear the same color, either black, grey, cream or white. Siblings, dress them similar also. We want a cohesive look that draws attention to your baby, not your outfit. No logos or words on your clothing please.

What do I need to bring? I have everything you will need for your babies session, you don't need to bring anything for the photo portion! Please bring items to diaper (pack extras, feed (if using bottles, pack extra), a soft pacifier (even if you don't use one at home), and a soft blanket. If you have something special you would like to be photographed with baby, please send me a photo of it so I can be ready.

How long does the session take? Newborn sessions are totally baby led, sometimes they will last 1.5 hours, sometimes they will last 3. I try my very hardest to get your baby to sleep for their session, that sometimes means doing lots of feeding, holding, and rocking at the beginning of and during their time at the studio.

Can we bring siblings? Yes, if you purchased the Heirloom package. I love to start the session with family and sibling portraits! I do ask that after that portion of the session the children leave with a family member. The studio is uncomfortably warm, needs to be quiet, and isn't the most fun place for kiddos during a newborn session. If your package does not include sibling or family photos, please do not bring them to the studio. This is so that I can maintain a quiet studio and also to limit the amount of germs in the studio.

Do we need to do anything special with the baby? Please bring the baby dressed in a loose fitting outfit that can be removed without pulling over their head, no tight fitting socks. Please feed your baby immediately before heading to the studio, hopefully they will fall into a deep sleep on the ride here. 

What will the session be like? The newborn studio is setup to make your baby as sleepy as possible. That means I will have the temperature at a very warm 85 degrees, dress accordingly, you will be warm. I do not have a restroom in the studio, for emergencies you may use the restroom in my home. We will begin with family and sibling portraits, move onto baby only, and end with parent photos. Your baby will lead the session, we will stop and feed any time baby needs, which will be more often than at home due to the constant posing. Your session is a time for you to relax, I have a couch and a coffee pot, have a drink and a snack, and take a must needed nap!

Where is your studio? I am located at 18752 Farm Road 2030, Aurora, MO. 

 Please let me know! Head south on 39 out of Aurora for 4 miles, at the intersection of TT Hwy take a right, and then take the very next right. It is a long driveway that ends in a 2 story home with an attached shop with a porch entrance. That entrance is where you will come in.
